《2046》是《花樣年華》的延續，《2046》是由梁朝偉飾演的六十年代人物 -
周慕雲筆下的一部科幻小說。「2046」既是現實中(1966年)的一間旅館房號，也是未來(2046年)一個地方的代號。故事講述和蘇麗珍(張曼玉飾)離別後的周慕雲以撰寫色情小說維生，2046號房裡面有他和蘇麗珍的過去，而登上開往「2046」這個地方列車的人，就可以尋回失落的記憶……

He was a writer. He thought he wrote about the future but it really was
the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a
while. Everyone who went there had the same intention.....to recapture
their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed.
Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had
ever come back- except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He
