祝英台（李琳琳）自幼好讀書，故女扮男裝往杭州上學
。在上學期間，邂逅同窗梁山伯（劉松仁）。山伯品學
兼優，材貌出眾，盡得英台芳心。英台因不便說出身世
，便向山伯提出為妹作媒，囑他日後前往提親。

怎料英台突然奉命返家，離去前託師母為媒，山伯知悉
後高興萬分。惟祝父已為英台訂下親事，逼她相許，英
台不允，遂病倒家中。當山伯抵達祝府，得知英台已許
配給別人，不禁傷心欲絕。期後山伯相思成疾，鬱鬱而
終；英台感到生無可戀，撞墳殉情，他倆雙雙化成彩蝶，
結伴在天地間飛翔。
