Loosely based on the popular mega comic book, Crying Freeman. Sam Hui plays, Yao, a Chinese martial artist in Russia, kidnapped by the master of 108 Dragons, an underworld organization.

Stripped of his past memories he is trained by the master to become the society's top assassin, Freeman. But in the meantime Yao's girlfriend (Maggie Cheung) is trying to track him down and inadvertently becomes his next target.
