The villagers raise Zhao Gung who used to be a poor orphan and he changes into a wealthy chicken raiser.  He donates 10,000 RMB, which is planned to be used for his marriage, to the orphans in temporary shelter.  Kind-hearted, enthusiastic and impulsive Zhao Guang says " I'll be father of every orphan."

These words make lots of trouble for him.  Orphans and pretended orphans all over the village rush to find their "father."  Zhao Guang becomes to love these children as time goes by and makes clear of his own value....
