Valiantly she struggles to provide for her family and keep them together no matter what. Set in a small village in China, the story focuses on a traditional woman named Qiuyue. She must begin supporting her family when her husband unexpectedly abandons them. She goes to work at a factory – quite different from her quiet rural life. Her unhappy daughter, Shou-er, leaves home to search for her father. Naturally, Qiuyue misses her, and tries to track her down.
