內容：
本片改編自《水滸傳》第二十回〈宋江怒殺閻婆惜〉。閻惜姣（李麗華）隨父母自魯西逃荒鄆城後，閻父因病去世，惜姣逼得賣身葬父，幸獲宋江（嚴俊）慨然濟助。惜姣辦畢喪事，親向宋江獻身；宋江遂買下烏龍院，與惜姣母女同住。宋江之徒張文遠（梅硯生）垂涎惜姣美貌，趁宋江公務在外，設計姦污惜姣。宋江回來誤會惜姣與文遠私通，向惜姣大興問罪之師……

Based on an episode in the classic Ming Dynasty novel The Water Margin,
Three Sinners is a Huangmei Opera about love, betrayal, murder, and
redemption set nine centuries ago. The evergreen Li Li-hua plays one of
the three sinners, a lady caught between a tempestuous suitor and her
jealous husband (Yen Chuan, Li's real-life husband and the film's
director). Shot in Eastmancolor and Shawscope, it is one of the grandest
costume pictures in the Shaw Brothers library.
