| Young And Dangerous V (2001)
98古惑仔 龍爭虎鬥
Director: Andrew Lau
Starring: Ekin
Cheng, Cheng Ho Nam, Danny Lee, Shu Qi, Chin Ka Lok
A convoluted plot and fairly stale formula
diminish this film's overall effect significantly. Nonetheless, the Hung
Hing saga continues and is interesting to follow. This film might not
stand so well on its own, but it is a definite must for fans of the
series who have already come to know the characters and their
motivations.
This fifth and final installment (not including
the posthumous Prequel, and the "Portland Street Blues" and "Those Were
The Days" spinoffs) of the very popular Triad vs. Triad series, presents
Chan Ho Nam (Dior Cheng Yee-Kin) with a new challenge. Szeto Ho Nam of
the Tong Sing Gang wants the lion's share of his Causeway Bay profits.
Officer Lee, the newly appointed senior police
supervisor from Wan Chai, holds the troublesome gang and its leader
Chan, under his tight grip. Once a Chinese-Malaysian governor sets up
Chan, it leads to his investigation by the Commercial Crime Bureau.
